Metro provides more than 150 Geographic Information Systems (GIS) layers for the region through online maps, data downloads and web services.

GIS data are created and maintained by the Metro Data Resource Center (DRC), as well as by other jurisdictions and agencies throughout the region. Metro simplifies access to this information by compiling many data sources and creating seamless layers that are consistent over the region and through time. This clearinghouse of data is known as the Regional Land Information System (RLIS).
